The only productivity hack we need
Productivity hacks are bull$#!+.
All we need to do is write down 2-5 things we’re going to accomplish every day and just focus on getting those done. If we can accomplish 2-5 of our most important tasks every day, we're more productive than 90% of people out there.
It’s a common trap to confuse “productivity” with responding to other people’s priorities. But earning a reputation as someone who responds to emails and Slacks immediately isn’t a badge of honor. It’s an indictment of our inability to plan and identify what really moves the needle.
An email is an interruption. We can eventually respond in batches, but we shouldn’t let interruptions distract from our list of the stuff that actually matters.
All we need to do is write down 2-5 things we’re going to accomplish every day.
And get those done.
